What is it about Richard?
Richard firmly believes that attitude is everything. How we approach problems and issues determines whether we succeed or fail. Throughout his time on this planet, life threw him into circumstances beyond his control, just as it does for everyone. He did not lament or say ‘woe is me?’ No, he dealt with it and carried on. His success as a writer and author is a testament to that attitude.
He wrote many stories in his youth, all of which are now lost to history. He wrote his first short story as an adult in 2007 and dabbled in writing stories over the next few years, not expecting to publish any of them.
He loves writing. When he found the quote by Voltaire, ‘Writing is the Painting of the Voice,’ he immediately connected with it. When he gets on a roll, his creativity flows from his brain to his fingers as they dance across the keys. He can get lost in the painting of his stories. Unsurprisingly, he finds writing stories more fulfilling than painting. A painting captures a single moment in time. A story captures an infinite number of moments in time.
When he is in his creative mindset, thousands of images and scenes flow through his mind day and night. He can’t shut them off, and he can’t capture them all. Most get away from him. Still, he writes and adds note after note to his collection of ideas.
His stories do a better job of capturing some of these images that flow through his thoughts. His passion for painting and writing stems from his desire to blend fantasy, sci-fi, and beautiful women into his work.
One day, he discovered he could seize his imagery using words. To him, it’s beautiful and makes him happy. As you read his stories or view his paintings, you can visualize him applying his motto to his creative works, just as he does in my everyday life. Maybe even more so.
He remains attuned to astrology. He sees many commonalities between his zodiac sign, Scorpio, and how others see him. The parallels are uncanny, and it’s a rare notion that he disagrees with a depiction of a Scorpio.
His Goal
He aspires to live in a luxurious beachfront home, where he can write and relax. Finding and making love with a mermaid would be nice, too. He’ll see you all in the next life, assuming he doesn’t survive the encounter with a siren of the sea.
