After effects of writing Shadowed Inheritance

A Consortium Origins Tale, #1

As I wrote in my last entry, the after effects of writing Shadowed Inheritance. sparked countless creative ideas for the Consortium Series. What I didn’t expect was writing day after day, drafting new scenes/chapters and doing initial edits on what I had written. This last chapter I worked on is over 4000 words long and took two days to get it just about right. I’m enthralled.

Book 7 follows the action after the destruction of the Consortium training center and Sir’s estate. Sir escapes capture to take up residence in his sister Raven’s house. Sir and Raven are putting their heads together to try and salvage what is left of the Consortium. Raven, being her normal self, is looking at getting back at those that ravaged the auction facility and her brother’s estate. Sir, on the other hand, is struggling to put things back to normal. His emotional state is in turmoil. He’s afraid of letting the membership down, and more importantly, is ancestral legacy. You’ll understand that last reference if you have already read ‘Shadowed Inheritance.’

What Shadowed Inheritance did for me. ‘Shadowed Inheritance’ sparked countless creative ideas for the Consortium Series.

So, after I put Shadowed Inheritance to bed, I began reviewing what I had previously written a year ago before the circumstances at home stopped me cold turkey. Work on writing Consortium book 7 is what came next. I’ve completed the drafts for twelve chapters. Typically, my books are at least thirty chapters long, so I’m one third the way through this book. Who knows, it go longer.

Book 7 follows the action after the destruction of the Consortium training center and Sir’s estate. Sir escapes capture to take up residence in his sister Raven’s house.

The previous books have always been from the perspective of Sir and Avril. In this book, it will be from Raven’s perspective. In my head, I know a lot about her. However, as an important character to the storyline, there’s not much about her. Shadowed Inheritance introduces her to the storyline during the period of when she was a child to a young adult. In the Consortium Series, she’s much older, and eighteen months older than Sir. I plan to introduce you to her in a deeper way. Let’s hope I succeed. I am looking forward to completing this book, and more, to see just how this tale unfolds. I hope you do too.
