about the book
‘The Trafficking Consortium’ is book 1 in the Consortium series. With its many twists and turns, fellow readers have reported trouble figuring out how it will end. Based on the question, “What could happen if someone sells your personal information to an unscrupulous organization?” ‘The Trafficking Consortium’ is a fictional account of what happened to Avril when they took her and sold her at auction to the highest bidder.
The frightening thing is that what happened to Avril could happen to anyone — even you.
Spread out in every major city in every country around the globe; a secret thousand-year old organization operates a network of operatives seeking qualified talent suitable for their needs. The group pays well for the leads submitted.
They work in innocuous jobs and stay in the background as they go about their talent search. Employed as secretaries, receptionists and non-professional clerical positions; these operatives usually live paycheck to paycheck. They often struggle with how to pay their rent or put food on the table. The bonus money they receive from their submissions gives them a welcome relief from these worries.
Their jobs give them full access to the public patronizing their establishments. These businesses include high-class bars and restaurants patronized by millennials, rich and poor alike; and in professional offices such as law firms, medical centers, and political offices. Spas, salons, brokerage houses, real estate agencies, and hotels host the bulk of the rest of the agents.
Despite working for two masters, the operatives act in good faith, although some knew that their activities are illegal. However, they are well paid, and the risk is minimal. As recruiters, they believe they are finding talented and exceptionally beautiful young men and women for consideration of posts in exotic locations all around the world.
Well-paid operatives welcome a finder’s fee for each candidate they submit, followed by a significant bonus for each accepted candidate. They are encouraged only to submit candidates likely for selection, knowing that they will lose their source of easy cash if they present too many non-qualified candidates.
Not officially members with this secret agency, these contract operatives do not know each other and never interact with each other. They have no idea what is the real purpose of the organization.
It would horrify all the contract operatives to find out they were fronting for an organized human trafficking agency operating on a global scale, and their paid bonuses helped send unsuspecting men and women into bondage and eventual death.
The roots of this secret organization trace back to the withdrawal of the Roman Empire in Europe during the first millennium. As Christianity arose in Eurasia, filling the vacuum left behind the withdrawing horde, the papacy banned the enslaving of fellow Europeans. However, it encouraged the practice among local and foreign pagans from all over the world. Unforeseen consequences of the ban resulted in a small group of wealthy individuals assembling to share and enjoy a common expression of their debauchery.
As the second millennium progressed, their influence stretched to all parts of the known world. So did their access to a greater pool of unsuspecting men and women caught in their web. By the start of the third millennium, their global reach extended to every continent. With their extensive influence and reach, who would miss a few hundred men and women culled from the billions living worldwide that fulfilled their vicious desires?
Membership in this organization was expensive, extremely private and most members could trace their ancestral membership for several centuries.
Members of this organization simply called themselves…
