Writing up a storm

For the last three weeks, I’ve been writing up a storm. One thing you don’t know is that I am back from a vacation in the sun, mild warm temperatures, and dips in the pool. It sure is nice to get away from the brutal snow and frigid temperatures.

I wrote while enjoying the blue skies in my shorts and t-shirt. Writing up a storm, I got a lot done. I’m working in the third book in the Consortium Series. I only have a few more chapters to write to finish the draft. It’s time to build up to the exciting climax, and of course the hook to bring you back for the next installment.

I haven’t given book 3 a title yet, but it will come. Right now, I’m using the working title of ‘Consortia,’ but I very much doubt I will use that. Working diligently, writing up a storm, I hope to have it out by early summer.

Consortium Series

The Trafficking Consortium

The story follows Avril Gillows, kidnapped in book 1, ‘The Trafficking Consortium,’ and sold as part of a human trafficking ring. She survives against all the odds, succumbing to the whims of a cruel man. By the end of book 1, she suspects he is in love with her, in his own sadistic way. She uses his love for her against him to cajole him into accepting a plan to keep her alive by becoming a member of the Consortium. A plan meant to expose and bring down the Consortium from the inside.

Perfect Prey
Perfect Prey

In book 2, ‘Perfect Prey,’ Avril trains with him to become like him, a cruel sadist who takes pleasure in tormenting before killing his prey.

Unknown to her sadist master, she abhors the idea, and prays God will forgive her. The story reveals more of the Consortium, highlighting the depth and cruelty of the membership. Not only are prey captured and sold into human bondage, but it describes how the Consortium membership salivates from the entertainment value of the deaths of the victims.

Book 3 highlights Avril’s growing dissatisfaction and anger with her situation. Composed in earlier books, she struggles with what he forces her to do, and what he does to her. She blows up at him when he severely punishes her for what she considers is a minor infraction. The agony she suffers nearly kills her, leaving her in pain for weeks while she recovers. Meanwhile, an outside force is investigating the disappearance of prey from the second book, not to mention a Consortium agent going rogue. The Consortium puts out a hit on her life.

The action is building. I envision five books in the series with a potential for more beyond that. Look for the next installment due the summer of 2019.

Bendarova Series and Her Client

Mona's World

What concerns me is that I also have the third book in the pipeline in the Mona Bendarova series. Named ‘Lucky Bitch,’ it continues the action begun in ‘The Taste of Honey’ and continued with ‘Broken Steele,’ forcing Mona into a role she is woefully unprepared. She feels alone, insecure, and vulnerable. With few allies, they leave her on her own to either sink or swim. The book needs work. Yet, it’s close. It needs further editing and cover design before publication.

I should get back to it. I promise, I will.

Jolene

Her Client Trilogy book cover 3D

‘Her Client Trilogy’ is a dark story about selfish revenge and domination for personal sake. The actions of the perpetrators are horrific and graphic. The victim is powerless throughout and suffers a great deal. Spoiler alert: she takes her revenge out on those that assaulted her and nearly becomes a monster herself. How that happens, well, you must read the story to find out.

Some readers have asked me to write a followup story as a victim turned hero, seeking and destroying the monsters of this world. I am not likely to continue her story, but who knows, maybe I will. Anything is possible.

Story Lines in the queue

Then, there are all the ideas and snippets for other stories I’d like to write. Yes, writing up a storm of new, many entirely different from my current set, is in the queue.

Writing up a storm with a romantic flair

gomez and morticia addams romance

One of those ideas is something completely different. It’s a kind of romance with a BDSM angle. Think of 50 Shades with a more realistic real-world touch. I’ve written several scenes already, but none are enough to put into an actual book. The good news is it’s not the dark thriller like my other books. No, this is a light-hearted, romantic story with lots of sex and desire. There will be conflict, of course. Any good story must have the characters struggle to make it interesting.

Writing up a storm regarding a serial killer on the loose

Another storyline I’ve come up with is a married couple who enjoys solving crime. They get involved with trying to uncover the perpetrator in a series of killings. Oh yes, there’s a new serial killer on the loose, and they’re out to catch him. Sure, other authors use this gimmick. I intend to make my stand out from all those others.

I so wish I had more time in a week to write. The real world gets in the way. So, when I get a chance, I write up a storm.
